AvGen was formed in 1993 as an independent provider of information management solutions for the air transport and aerospace industries. AvGen's background encompasses airline operations, planning, engineering and maintenance, aircraft manufacturing, sales & marketing, together with extensive experience of the application of IT to all of these functions. This makes us ideally placed to tackle difficult or one-off software projects where systems skills need to be combined with specialist air transport industry knowledge. Since our formation, we have developed a wide range of off-the-shelf and bespoke solutions to the information management needs of the air transport industry, and in many cases our clients requirements can be satisfied by means of one of AvGen's standard application modules. Even when a custom solution has to be built from the ground up, AvGen's use of object-oriented development tools, combined with client/server and Internet technology, enable solutions to be built much more cost-effectively than with conventional methods. AvGen believes that clients are entitled to expect quality, effectiveness, and above all, independence. Although many of AvGen's solutions interact with data from a number of the standard industry sources (OAG, IATA, etc), AvGen is completely independent of these organisations - to the extent that an important part of our business is in cleaning, validation and value-added enhancement of third-party vendors' data. Many of AvGen's past development contracts have been won on the basis of our ability to design and build systems with short lead times, often interoperating with clients existing IT systems and databases, and using industry-standard platforms such as Oracle and SQL Server. |
